But we do appreciate that we all have equal right to this planet and to our own existence. We do not insist that we all love each other, although we’ve heard that is all you really need. So what change are Millennials seeking? Justice, a fair voice for all, with equal understanding and mutual respect. ![]() No action will reap no result.Īs a great mind once said… “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Seeking karma is not a passive act it is not the result of sitting back and doing nothing. In some ways it does come down to karma, but not exactly in the way that Satya Nadella precariously first phrased it. As humanity faces further adversity it is the selfless leaders who prove that actions taken for the few will always right the course of our planet. But as the story goes on the arch of the moral universe bends towards justice. The authoritative response is harsh and strips those who acted foolishly in self-preservation, but bravely in selflessness, of all they have earned. In both cases of parable the actions of the many do succeed in saving the few or the one, but at a tremendous cost. Let us go back to the Enterprise for a second. Even if such actions come at an initial cost, we have gained a growing faith in the enduring and just potential of the human spirit. For the most part this has been the mission taken on by Millennials, to work together for the betterment of all.Ĭall the objective for common selflessness fool hearted optimism, but thanks to the foundation laid by revolutionary generations before us, Millennials have a chance to make such hopefulness reality. Despite the fact that logic dictates the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, the human response demonstrated in these cinematic moments show the many risking all they have to save the few, even the one.
